The holidays may be looking a little brighter for the unemployed as the Express Employment Professionals will be hiring more than 9,000 people according to a released statement.
The company's 172 offices will be working with local businesses to hire seasonal workers. The hiring campaign, called the Pay It Forward Holiday Hiring Drive, will be looking to hire 9,612 people for holidays. Express CEO and Chairman Bob Funk said in a statement the goal of the plan is to help the unemployed find jobs during this time of year.
"Our goal is to lock arms with job seekers in an effort to bring hope to families for the holidays and help businesses find quality workers to handle the upswing during this time of year," Funk said
Some local Express offices have already begun including three Pittsburgh, Penn. offices, which plan to employ 200 people by Dec. 29. The Miami Lakes, Fla. Offices is looking to employ 50 people.
The holidays are increased time for workers as many retailers look to seasonable employees to help out. The National Retail Federation estimated that between 720,000 and 780,000 workers will be hired during this time.
