Creative types should be sharpening their resumes as a new survey from The Creative Group found advertising and marketing firms will be more active in hiring over the next few months.
The survey, which interviewed more than 400 experts in the marketing and advertising field, found that 13 percent of these executives would will be adding new positions or expanding their departments within the early part of 2014. This is a jump form earlier in the year when only 9 percent of hiring managers believed they would be adding new jobs through the end of the year. Diane Domeyer, executive director of The Creative Group, said in a statement that a need for skilled workers is one of the main causes for the increased interest in hiring.
"Agencies and in-house creative teams are expanding to address increased workloads, largely driven by online projects," Domeyer said.
The survey reported that more than 32 percent of advertising and marketing experts believed it is difficult to find skilled workers.
Among the specific areas hiring managers were asked where they will add positions in the next year, 16 percent of the of those surveyed said they would add jobs in social media and media services.
